The brotherhood we share as fellow law officers, bare none, should be the greatest reason to join an organization which is comprised of COPS who have been there.  It’s not comprised of administrative types who have never taken a step in your boots.  It doesn’t have individuals who have never been a cop and not understand the issues faced on a daily bases.  If we do not look after one another in today’s crazy climate,  who else will? 

Simply belonging to such a organization with those we work with daily is enough argument to why you should join.  When the going gets tough, who is there at your side, whether helping you through a  family tragedy or simply providing you an ear for listening.   FOP's main function is to represent you and your fellow law enforcement members within the law enforcement community. · Legislative efforts which benefit you as an officer are continually being pursued.  Officers bill of rights, the heart bill, National CCW for law officers, keep criminals behind bar initiatives, too many to count.  Numerous laws are reviewed, supported, initiated and followed throughout the legislative   process.  You have a voice in how our communities are shaped.

· A $10,000 dollar life insurance which turns into $20,000 for accidental death and $30,000 for in the line of duty death.  FOP also provides an separate $1000.00 check to your loved one within 24 hours of death.
